Sometimes in our busy lives, we may experience confusion and uncertainty in ourselves. We may feel very isolated and perhaps even lost, we may not know which way to turn. It may be that our coping strategies in life no longer seem to be working for us. Counselling tends to be short term work which usually focuses on particular issues or problem solving. I will work with you in helping you explore and understand the issues you have brought to counselling. This process will enable you to make the necessary changes in your life which will facilitate personal growth and development and in turn will lead to increased confidence and a more positive sense of self. Psychotherapy on the other hand tends to be longer term work which involves a much more in-depth process in exploring your past and examining how it influences your present day life. I will work with you in a safe, non-judgemental and respectful way as we explore together and help you understand your inner world, your personal experiences, the way you have of dealing with yourself, with others, and the world around you. In doing this I will utilise my expertise, my knowledge and skills in helping to bring to your awareness the links between your historic past and your present day experiences.

At Peace Inside we are dedicated to delivering exceptional, tailor-made, mental health and wellbeing services. Providing a safe, professional, welcoming environment we meet our clients with an encouraging integrity, ethical consideration and unfaltering trustworthiness where each individual feels understood, respected and valued. When someone makes the decision to engage in counselling or psychotherapy it is usually because they are suffering. It may be anxiety, stress, depression, grief, low self-esteem, relational problems, sexuality, struggles with their identity or any number of issues that they see as the cause of their pain. It may be difficult for them to open up to family or friends about what they are truly experiencing. Through understanding and acceptance real change is possible. Our hope for our clients is that they find the compassion, wisdom and strength at their cores and that they can find their own versions of Peace Inside.

Adult Psychotherapy & Counselling can provide a safe supportive place to find new ways to address a crisis in work or a relationship. Psychotherapy works on long standing problems often rooted in difficult traumatic early life experiences which when spoken about in detail can enable you to make better choices in relationships and life in general. Adolescence is a complex developmental stage. It is distinct from childhood and it is not adulthood. Adolescent Counselling therapy helps teenagers and their families to negotiate the difficulties that can sometimes emerge at this time. These include challenges in relationships at home, school, moving to secondary school and again moving onto third level education. Other issues include bullying, sexuality issues, eating disorders, withdrawal, depression, anxiety, self injury, aggression, suicidal thoughts, family changes and grief and bereavement. Counselling can help teenagers understand and make sense of their feelings/behaviour and who they are and want to be. Bottled up feelings may emerge and psychotherapy offers an opportunity to explore these feelings. This brings the possibility of making feelings easier to understand and to take action. It can also be the place where they learn about relating with a safe and caring adult. Play Therapy is a way of helping children work through issues they may be experiencing. I use a variety of techniques such as non-directive and directive play, talk, and sand therapy to help children who are experiencing difficulties with their emotions or behaviour. I usually integrate several therapeutic methods to find which one works for each individual child.
