Massage tailored to you ?Massage isn’t just an indulgent treat – it can help beat stress, ease muscle tension and boost overall wellbeing. Every therapist is fully qualified and are experts at the massage treatments they offer, so you will know you’re getting the very best. Most of our massages are full-body treatments, designed for ultimate relaxation. But each treatment can be tailored to you. So, if there’s a particular area you want the massage therapist to focus on – or a part of your body you don’t want them to touch – you can just let them know. Our most popular treatments are the Remedial Massage and Deep Tissue massages. If you want to book a massage with a friend or partner, you can do that through us – simply request when you book. You can have either the same treatment or each select different ones. Remedial Massage Therapy Remedial massage is used to locate and repair damaged areas of the body and speed up the body’s own healing processes. The pressure applied in this healing treatment can either be strong and deep or gentle and shallow, depending on the problem. Problems with the muscles can trigger or radiate pain to other parts of the body. Remedial massage aims to trace the original reason for the pain, tackling both the cause of the problem and the symptoms. Deep Tissue Massage Therapy Deep tissue massage is a massage technique that’s mainly used to treat musculoskeletal issues, such as strains and sports injuries. It involves applying sustained pressure using slow, deep strokes to target the inner layers of your muscles and connective tissues. This helps to break up scar tissue that forms following an injury and reduce tension in muscle and tissue. It may also promote faster healing by increasing blood flow and reducing inflammation.

Hello my name is Paul MacDonald and I am the owner of Cork Sports Injury Clinic in Cork city. I am a fully insured and qualified member of the Association of Neuromuscular Physical Therapists (ANMPT). I also have qualifications in deep tissue, sports massage, dry needling, ultrasound and studied spinal manipulation under Michael Monaghan (Osteopath). I played senior rugby with Highfield Rugby Club for many years. During this time I had many injuries and by working with physios, osteopaths and chiropractors I developed a deep interest in sport injury rehabilitation. After my time on the pitch I became a coach. This included all ages from U16 to the senior team and coaching has given me great insights into rehabilitation. Being a Physical Therapist also allows me to work with individuals from Triathlon, Athletics and GAA. I perform Therapy/Massage duties at events such as triathlons and athletic events. Another duty is pre-match strapping and injury treatment on pitch during matches and post game treatments. My studies include the National Training Centre (NTC) Cork, an academic partner of the University of Chester, as well as studying under the directorship of Mr John Sharkey BSc, NMT, MSc., an anatomist and exercise physiologist. John is a member of the Olympic Council of Ireland’s medical and science team. The treatments are also for people who are just looking to de-stress or are out of balance. If you are suffering from chronic pain and want help to relieve the symptoms of back pain, neck pain or any injury then I can help with a combination of Deep Tissue Massage, Dry needling, spinal adjustment and cupping . These treatments can be done all together or as required.

I have been helping people with all sorts of problems for over 25 years. From general issues like lack of energy to very specific problems like a frozen shoulder, or a sports injury, I am here to change things for you. It interests me that resolving one problem will often improve another, such as indigestion or irritable bowel problems. Whether your issue is age-related movement or pregnancy postural problems, don’t suffer in silence – ask for help. I also tackle work-related problems, such as the farmer beat after the calving season or office workers feeling the ill effects of sitting. If you are unhappy with how you are feeling, organise a consultation TODAY at Cork Chiropractic Clinic and start to Look Better. Feel Better. Move Better. Our aim is to alleviate pain and improve mobility as quickly as possible, so if your presentation allows, treatment will be offered to you after the consultation.
