Course Overview
Safe Pass Training Information
The Safe Pass programme is a one-day course designed to enhance awareness and knowledge of health and safety practices in the construction industry. The course includes the following topics:
- Introduction to Site Safety
- Legislation and Safety Standards
- Reporting Site Incidents
- Understanding Risk Assessments
- Electrical Safety
- Excavation Safety
- Working at Heights
- Behavioural Safety Practices
- Operating Construction Equipment and Vehicles Safely
- Personal Health, Welfare, and PPE
- Noise and Vibration Awareness
You will be charged a fee, covering the course and the administration of the SOLAS Safe Pass Registration Card.
After Completion
Once you finish the course, your results are uploaded to the National Construction Scheme Database. Your Safe Pass Registration Card will be issued to your tutor approximately five working days later. Errors in the submission may delay your card.
Card Validity
The Safe Pass Registration Card is valid for four years, after which refresher training is required. A new card is issued upon successful completion of the refresher course.
Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS)
The CSCS programme is tailored for non-craft roles in construction, focusing on specific skill areas. To participate, you must meet the eligibility criteria for your desired skill category.

Fee and Certification
The course fee includes training, QQI certification, and CSCS Registration Card processing. Upon completion, your training provider will manage your QQI certification and card application.
Card Validity
CSCS cards are valid for five years and can be renewed online upon expiry.
