River Art Supplies is owned and run by Irish artist Stephen Healy and his Assistant Manager Declan O'Doherty. We opened our doors for the first time on the 25th August 2014 on the corner of Moore Street and Barrack Street in Loughrea, Co. Galway. Initially envisaged as a studio space, the idea (as ideas do), grew and changed until eventually it was decided to create a badly needed artist’s supply store as well as a work space. Our ultimate goal is to be a resource for artists to drop in and discuss their work and to seek and give advice freely in a space that’s conducive to the creative process. We want to provide equipment, supplies and services at a fair price locally, without the need to make the long trek into Galway City and to display and showcase artists’ work. In the short time we’ve been open it has become abundantly clear that there is a wealth of exceptionally talented people in the area working in many different disciplines. Every day we learn something new and pass it on to others. Long may it last.
