ARCH Creative and Play Therapy Centre offers Creative/ Play Therapy for Children, Adolescents and Adults in Limerick and Munster. Creative/ Play Therapy provides a safe space for children, teenagers and adults to explore and express their experiences and emotions and develop new ways of coping with their world. Play Therapy is the therapeutic use of play and creative arts. Many people, especially children, do not readily have words to explain their circumstances, feelings and reasons behind their behaviour but easily express themselves through creative media and play. This service is provided by a trained and experienced Certified and Accredited Play Therapist, Janine Nehrig. Janine has worked with children and families in different settings since 2003. As a member of Play Therapy Ireland and the Psychological Society of Ireland, she adheres to strict codes of practice, including clinical supervision, continuing professional development and clinical governance, as well as to Ireland’s child protection guidelines Children First. Janine is also a member of the Register of Play and Creative Arts Therapists, Accredited Register, accredited and regulated by the UK government Professional Standards Authority, aiming to improve standards and safety in therapy provision. Catherine is a trained Psychotherapist and Counsellor. She studied with P. I. Dublin for four years and received her honours degree. She then furthered her training for another two years with the Marino Clinic in Dublin for eating disorders. Here she learned specialised skills in helping people who suffer with or are affected by eating disorders. Catherine also trained and worked with a group called Support after Homicide . This group supported people who had been traumatised and bereaved through homicide. Recognising that creativity and art have a huge role to play in the therapeutic process she did some training with Eileen Prendiville of The Children’s Therapy Centre. She has also done numerous workshops on the benefits of mindfulness. Catherine is also an experienced group facilitator. She began a group in Limerick to offer support to sufferers of eating disorders; their families and their friends. Nirvana Therapy Centre was established with a view to teaching people life skills and coping strategies that both benefit and enhance life.
