Description
A warm welcome awaits children and their parents at Tir na nOg, the ethos is a 'home from home'. The environment both indoor and outdoor is rich in a variety of activities which absorb the child thus developing concentration and confidence. Friendships and social skills are encouraged and a community of caring capable children often emerges. The child, your child, never fails to astonish us with their curiosity and love of life. We have great fun and enjoy our days together. We welcome our past pupils back for visits when they get the opportunity.
Company description
We run a Montessori based curriculum and ethos. The school is open Monday to Friday 08.45 to 12.15. We have a capacity for 22 children and there are 3 teachers. We have a navy track suit uniform with our school logo attached to the top. We participate in the government's E.C.C.E. Free preschool year scheme. We have been established since 1993. Two of the teachers have been working together for over 15 years so there is continuity from one year to the next. We have two rooms, one fully equipped with the Montessori materials and the second a combination between Montessori and play, we have our home corner, Lego, building bricks etc. Our materials are from simple to complex, concrete to abstract to enable the child understand his world. We agree with Maria Montessori when she stated " the education of even a very small child does not aim at preparing him/her for school, but for life"
