Lisdoonvarna is in the Burren Region, ideally located for visiting the world famous Cliffs of Moher, 11km, with its fantastic new interpretive centre.
Free internet access throughout the hotel. We show matches and events on our large screen television. There is a private dining room to cater for parties and meetings and a private guest room with computer and printer, books and board games.
There is free car parking throughout Lisdoonvarna and the hotel has secure facilities for bicycles, motor bikes, surf boards, etc. We also welcome guests with pets on request only.
In the month of September we are the leading premises in Lisdoonvarna for music and dancing during the matchmaking festival, daily 12.00 noon to 18.00 hrs. and nightly 21.00 hrs. to 1.00 hrs.
Lisdoonvarna is the perfect destination for an activity-based break in the distinctive Burren Region. The town is surrounded by wonderful walking, cycling hikin& g routes.
Rathbaun Hotel is a perfect location for enjoying the Cliffs of Moher, the dramatic coastal scenery of the Wild Atlantic Way, Doolin Caves, Ailwee Caves, golf courses, as well as beaches for both surfing and relaxing. A day trip to the Aran Islands, which are accessible by ferry, is just ten minutes from the hotel.
This unique and diverse Burren region covers approximately 270 square km of north Clare. The name Boireann means “rocky or barren place”
The Burren is described as a limestone karst landscape and you can find many of the typical limestone features such as caves, underground rivers, swallow holes, temporary lakes known as turloughs, clints, grykes and limestone pavements. The Burren is home to many types of unusual flora and fauna, many rare and very different species of flower grow alongside each other.
