IT.ie, Dublin

The company was established in 2004 by Eamon Gallagher and was originally called PCtechnix. Initially, the company operated as a provider of break/fix IT Support to small businesses in Dublin and from the beginning, we began strategic partnerships with some of the leading vendors in the industry including Microsoft, Oki Print & ESET Security.
With demand growing for remote assistance and helpdesk support we launched remotesupport.ie in 2008 as a dedicated website to direct all remote support requests. While the break/fix model was successful, we could see that there was a large growth in the demand for managed services fueled largely by emerging cloud technologies and in 2014 made the strategic decision to change our business model and transform the company into a provider of fully managed IT services. This allowed us to better forecast growth with stable revenue streams, to invest back into the business.

In 2016 IEDR opened up 2 letter domain registration and given the nature of our organisation, we decided to enter an auction for the now available IT.ie domain. At the time we weren’t confident that we’d be successful in obtaining it and would likely face competition from the like of the “Irish Times” or “Institute of Technology” not to mention from other IT service providers but in the end we beat the competition and began the process of rebranding to IT.ie

As we continued to grow, we quickly outgrew our premises in the Dublin Industrial Estate and in 2018 we purchase a new 6, 500 Sq. Ft facility to serve as our HQ and accommodate our growing team and provide a dedicated helpdesk centre.
In 2020 we were delighted to be accredited with Guaranteed Irish status and shows that IT.ie is dedicated to Irish Jobs, Irish Communities and the Irish Economy. The hard work of the team also got us awarded Cyber Security Essentials accreditation in 2020. In early 2021 we completed the ISO accreditation process and were awarded ISO 27001.
