Enterprise PARK, Swords

Swords is a town in Fingal, Ireland, 10 miles north of Dublin. It was founded in the sixth century by St Colmcille and the name may be a corruption of old Irish words meaning "pure" or "water source". Two rivers run through the town: the Ward in the centre and the Broadmeadow to the north. Most retail and civic facilities are around Main Street; further east there are several business parks. These, like other places nearby, can be reached easily with the assistance of Enterprise Rent-A-Car. Swords Castle dates from the early 13th century and several sections remain relatively intact today. The round tower of St. Columba's Church is the remnant of the medieval monastery, while the church belfry is sometimes open to the public. There are several parks, including Ward Park on the riverbank and Town Park around the castle. The National Show Centre is Ireland's premier dog show venue, and there are several golf courses within a short drive. The Swords Enterprise branch is in North Street Business Park, just south of Balheary Park by the R125.
