Twelve years ago my wife and I retired to the fair town of Bunclody;so far so good, the people as expected were friendly and helpful, and the town itself, now that we have a health shop to add to the other useful establishments, nearly as good as living in dear old dirty Dublin!! Recently , the Council in its wisdom decided to put a roundabout on the only crossroad in the town, now as a retired Driving Tutor (SIC ) with a deep interest in road safety I would normally welcome it as a great benefit .However, there was something wrong ! no, not with the roundabout per se but rather with the people it was meant to help. We are blessed with a lovely village green which is a credit to the townspeople responsible for its upkeep and the Council for thinking of ould folk like me and providing those very comfy benches! One of which has become a look out post for me as I watch with a mixture of amusementof fear and horror at
