We are fortunate to have a large team of home care workers and management staff at our Bluebird Care offices in Donegal and Leitrim. Which is just as well – such is our enhanced and growing reputation that we support and look after more than 200 individuals in this part of Ireland.#Our clients range in age from early childhood (2 years) to the very elderly (98 years) and, as you would expect, come to us with a range of needs. These include personal care services such as assistance in caring for themselves as well as light household duties. Then again, our team also provides the essential element of companionship which, at times, can involve simply having a chat over a cuppa or a more structured meeting involving an appointment with the client’s doctor, hairdresser etc.#Around 40 per cent of our clients are elderly while the remainder tend to be children and young people who require help with intellectual or sensory, as well as physical conditions.#Despite the varying needs outlined above, most of our clients share a similar criteria in that all require ongoing, long-term support. Here at Bluebird Care we believe this can be far more beneficial than temporary support because it very often allows a special relationship to build up between client and home carer – and which is appreciated by both.#A management team of eight individuals co-ordinate and ensure the smooth running of care at home services. We currently have well in excess of 100 carers on our books and all have a minimum qualification of FETAC level five. Many of our staff have in fact provided home care for decades.#Because of the discrepancy in the length of service and experience our carers come with, we feel it’s very important here at Bluebird Care in Donegal and Leitrim to insist on ongoing training for all our staff.
