Description
Clare McSharry, acupuncturist, is delighted to be able to offer patients a great acupuncture service at the new clean modern Dublin acupuncture clinic in Park West, Dublin, situated a short car ride from the M50 and 5 minutes by train from Heuston station in Dublin city.
Acupuncture is suitable for a number of ailments and Clare specialises in a number of areas:
Infertility, IVF, sinus, insomnia, stress, anxiety, menstrual problems and cosmetic acupuncture.
Acupuncture for Infertility
Acupuncture can increase fertility by reducing stress, increasing blood flow to the reproductive organs and balancing the endocrine system. Acupuncture can provide better blood flow to the ovaries and uterus, creating a stronger chance for an egg to be nourished and carried to term.
Modern acupuncture consists of the gentle insertion and stimulation of thin, disposable sterile needles at strategic points near the surface of the body. Over 2, 000 acupuncture points on the human body connect with 14 major pathways, called meridians. Chinese medicine practitioners believe that these meridians conduct qi, or energy, between the surface of the body and internal organs. It is qi that regulates spiritual, emotional, mental and physical balance.
When the flow of qi is disrupted through poor health habits or other circumstances, pain and/or disease can result. Acupuncture helps to keep the normal flow of this energy unblocked, thereby increasing a couple's chances of conceiving.
Acupuncture for Infertility and IVF
Research suggests that acupuncture may be helpful to couples undergoing in-vitro fertilization (IVF).
In 2002, a team of German researchers discovered that acupuncture significantly increased the odds of pregnancy among a group of 160 women who were undergoing IVF treatment. The researchers speculated that acupuncture helped increase blood flow to the uterus and relax the muscle tissue, giving the embryos a better chance of implanting.
This research has led to the German Protocol being developed. This is a series of acupuncture points beings used at specific times during the IVF process. The German Protocol is used at the Acupuncture zone clinic in Dublin.
Clare has had a number of clients who are now pregnant as a result of IVF combined with Acupuncture.
